What schools can do to support neurodiverse students

It can be very overwhelming in school . especially being neurodivergent .
I really struggle with the loudness of school . I'm in a school with over 1000 kids in it .  And there isn't really anywhere I can go that is quiet and calm . When we first went back to school after lockdown we were in bubbles . It was just our year group . in one small spot of the school . and there wasn't really a quiet place to go when it got really overwhelming .

So what can schools do to support neurodiverse students ?
To start they could make a quiet room . so during the day there is a safe and calm place for students to go .  It could have fidgets to help calm down if overwhelmed.

Another thing they could do is do training for schools but by actual neurodiverse people . Teachers need more education on it ! Teachers are only taught the stereotypes .
Also talking to the parents or students about their support needs in class . so teachers can actively support the students in the way that the students need .  Education is for all therefore everyone should get the assistance they need !
This kind of goes with my last point but , make lessons and exams accessible !  Whether it's extra time , printing out the power point , making students not copy or going slowly . make them accessible , you have over 20 students in a class , most of them learn in completely different ways and their learning styles should be supported !

School should be a safe place but most of the time it isn't. Their job is to educate , therefore they should  accommodate all !

Hope you have a wonderful day superheroes !
